Your first follow-up visit will be at 6 weeks after the surgery. Prior to this a district nurse may visit you at home to remove the staples or sutures from your wound. At the hospital visit, your knee will be checked and all being well, you will be permitted to give up one stick. You will no longer need to use your surgical stockings. Your next visit to see the specialist is likely to be three months after your first and at yearly intervals thereafter.
